World Environment Day Celebration 2026
Sagayathottam, June 5, 2026: Don Bosco College of Agriculture (DBCA) celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with enthusiasm through a series of cultural events and awareness programmes aimed at fostering environmental consciousness among students.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Vigneshwaran, Asst. Professor (Horti) & Club In-charge, who organized various activities highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The event was graced by S. Tamil Arasan as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the need for collective efforts in protecting forests, conserving biodiversity, and safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
The Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Alphonse Arulandham, encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and contribute actively towards environmental sustainability.
Presiding over the function, Dr. K. Sekar, highlighted the vital role of educational institutions in nurturing environmentally responsible citizens and promoting sustainable development.
The celebration featured a variety of cultural performances, including environmental-themed songs, skits, speeches, and awareness activities that effectively conveyed the message of protecting and preserving the environment. The enthusiastic participation of students made the event both meaningful and impactful.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from the college community to work towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.
